What is abrasion resistant steel plate?
Abrasion resistant (AR) steel plate is a high-carbon alloy steel plate. This means that AR is harder due to the addition of carbon, and formable and weather resistant due to added alloys

What is AR steel used for?
Common applications of the AR plate include dump liners, grates, buckets, construction attachments, conveyors, body armor, and ballistic plates (and as targets at shooting ranges).

What is the difference between AR 400 and AR 500?
AR400 is typically used where high wear resistance in needed as in digger blades and buckets, mining machinery, and heavy machinery. AR500 is a medium carbon, manganese alloy with moderate Brinell hardness. It is a quench and tempered high strength alloy steel which has superior abrasion resistance and toughness.
