Are you looking for the best abrasion-resistant steel in Mining operations?Hardox® wear plate is giving you extended service life and high productivity in the most challenging environments. Hardox® wear plate can withstand aggressive environments in with his incompatible hardness and toughness. For better profit, more efficient business operations, longer service life time, the Hardox® name is all good news!

This webinar is brought to you by SSAB and organised by CONSTRUCTION WORLD.

SSAB is a highly-specialised global steel company that develops high-strength steel and provides services for better performance and sustainability. A leading producer in the global market of Advanced High-Strength Steels (AHSS) and Quenched & Tempered Steels (Q&T), strip, plate and tube products, as well as construction solutions; SSAB’s steels and services help in making end products lighter and increase their strength and lifespan. The company has been at the forefront of sustainability in many ways. It has a plan to offer fossil-free steel to the market in 2026 and to eliminate all of our CO2 emissions by 2045.

Mr Dipankar Sarkar, Technical Development Manager, of SSAB in India gave his insights on the Hardox wear plate. Having completed his Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Technology in Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science from IIT Bombay, Mr Dipankar Sarkar has work experience of around seven years in the steel industry. At present, his role involves solving various wear challenges in different applications and providing all the required technical supports to the customers. He extends his support to customers from India and the APAC countries with the correct suggestions, value proposition, and upgradation
strategy.

Toughness and wear resistance are a tradeoff that tooling engineers must balance. Tough tool steels have lower wear resistance, while wear resistant grades can be brittle. This video discusses balancing these two properties and shares how Particle Metallurgy tool steels can challenge conventional wisdom.

What is ar400 steel? Is abrasion resistant steel plate with a minimum hardness on 360 to 400HB

What is abrasion resistant steel plate?
Abrasion resistant (AR) steel plate is a high-carbon alloy steel plate. This means that AR is harder due to the addition of carbon, and formable and weather resistant due to added alloys

What is AR steel used for?
Common applications of the AR plate include dump liners, grates, buckets, construction attachments, conveyors, body armor, and ballistic plates (and as targets at shooting ranges).

What is the difference between AR 400 and AR 500?
AR400 is typically used where high wear resistance in needed as in digger blades and buckets, mining machinery, and heavy machinery. AR500 is a medium carbon, manganese alloy with moderate Brinell hardness. It is a quench and tempered high strength alloy steel which has superior abrasion resistance and toughness.
